KARACHI: Provincial Home Minister Manzoor Hussain Wasan has directed the Consultant on Home Affairs Sharfuddin Memon to take steps to restore confidence of the general public.

“People lack confidence in registering cases against extortionists,” he said here on Thursday.

The Minister stressed that there was need to make the central complaint cell in the Home Department further effective.

“Complaints whether be in writing or through telephones should be taken notice of as we are public servants and they (people) expect quick response by us,” he observed.

Wasan also sought report on the performance of the complaint cell established at Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) against the 'Bhatta elements' and said that maximum assistance should also be provided to the business community who were the backbone of the economy of the country.

The general public could register their complaint on numbers including 111-786-466 and 021-99207744-48 and may also approach Complaint office located at Pakistan Secretariat, Barrack No. 71 near old Passport Office.
