CHICAGO: A Scottish Elvis Presley fan who had flown to Memphis to mark the anniversary of the King’s death was found dead of an apparent suicide in her rented condominium, police said Tuesday.
Gerrie Lawrie, 41, was last seen on Thursday and was reported missing Saturday after she didn’t return to Aberdeen as planned.
Police found the condo empty on their initial check, but when they returned on Monday they found Lawrie’s body in her bed.
“At this time, no obvious signs of foul play have been indicated,” police said in a statement. “The preliminary investigation does indicate that this death appears to be self-inflicted.”
A Facebook page dedicated to the mother of two was filled with tributes from friends and fellow Elvis fans.
“I’ll remember Gerrie as a beautiful, happy, friend who loved life and the people around her,” wrote John Helms, who had dinner with Lawrie in Memphis shortly before she disappeared. “She made many friends in many countries – that’s just the kind of person she was.”

I believe that this lady was murdered, they just don't want Memphis to look worse than it already appears. Memphi is one of the most dangeous places these days. I am sorry for the family of this lovely lady.
