ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Police and law enforcement agencies on Friday raided a hotel in Aabpara as well as house in sector G-6/1-1 and nabbed a terrorist along with five other suspects.

The terrorist along with his accomplices wanted to hit at large religious gathering in the capital city Islamabad on the eve of Jumatul Wida, a police spokesman said.

On a tip off about the presence of a terrorist in Anwar Hotel at Aabpara, the police raided there and arrested a person who told about the presence of his other accomplice in House No. 74-A, Street No.78 sector G-6/1-1.

The Police teams surrounded the house and arrested five suspects from there.

During the preliminary investigation from these nabbed persons, it was revealed that Sardar Ali Khan Khattak s/o Lashkari Khan Khattak has been residing here who had left to bring suicider from an area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for a major attack at religious gathering on the eve of Jumatul Wida.

Sardar Ali Khan Khattak is being told as Naib-Qasid in Ministry of Finance and presently availing two-year leave.

The Police also recovered a suicide jacket, one hand grenade, two pistols, bullets and foreign currency from there. Further investigation is underway.

Islamabad Police have termed it as a great success as timely action helped to thwart untoward incident.

The spokesman said that it is great achievement of Islamabad police and it will leave no stone unturned to ensure protection to the lives and property of the citizens.
