I am really sorry for Khizar Sb but I do not like the idea of waking all the people of 7-8 street 2 – 3 hours before the sehree. I need 20 to 30 minutes for my sehree. In these hot days with no electricity it is hard to get enough sleep and I would not like to waste 2 hours sleep.
Great story. I hope after listening to this story people will be more receptive of this old man's feelings especially during the time of Eid and would invite him over. As to the writer, please keep up finding more such stories and i wish you best of luck in creating awareness. Shabash!!
What a wonderful warm heart touching story. I live in US now but grew up not far from Mehmoodabad. I wish I could visit him on this eid, but hope that local reader will make the trip and remind him that he is not alone and we appreciate the work he is doing.
What a beautiful and heart touching story.
hope on this eid we share love besides money.
While I feel sorry for the this unfortunate man and most certainly would like to help him and urge all to do the same. However, I feel waking people up on the wee hours in the morning is also disturbing other(s) who don't want to fast and maybe a non-muslim.
This is really a helpless person and living in straitened circumstances. but, there are fewer persons, like Khizar, to whom such correspondent can access, many can not even show there grieves to the world which the face on all the time. It is our primary responsibility to give support, protection and love to such persons.

This is man has tremendous heart and dignity.
This is heart touching….I live in Lahore so I cannot go and personally meet this person. Every night I think about the man who wakes up everyone in my locality for Sehri and I think of helping him out but this surely has given me more motivation. No matter where you live please do help the ones near you.
Amazing !
I'm going to get my friends to visit him on Eid. And I urge everyone else to do the same. HE MUST NOT be left alone on Eid. And on every other day of the year I hope someone or the other can spare 5 mins to go see him as well. Lets do this please. We must show him we know about him and appreciate his work and contribution to society.
Thank you Raheel and Hussain for bringing his reality to our attention. He will stay in my thoughts.
MIS: I dont think he wants money…he wants companionship.
great to see this culture…something we really miss when we are not in pakistan…love to be back and part of my lovely country
What a beautiful piece! Dawn's doing incredible stuff.
Raheel Sahib: I'd like to help him. Is there a way to channel some funds to him.
thanks
Salute to "Raheel Qureshi" and "Hussain Afzal"!!! What a wonderful work by you two gentleman, by introducing this humble person to all of us. I hope, at least a few of those who can, will go and meet Muhammad Khizar Mahmood on this coming Eid and will spend their day with him as a "relative".
I have been living in Canada/USA for the last almost eleven years, and can, although only minutely, understand his feelings.
it is a call to the conscience of one human to another, not sehri wake up. help this man and others like him to survive and allow people who are not fasting for some reason, to sleep in peace. acts of faith are between allah and his creation, we choose whether we want to fast or not, we are humans.
We salute u.We all r ue relatives dnt worry
such people are the Living/walking Signs of God to make the fortunate people realize how tough a life could have been, for them too. But we are thankless hearts. They are the true believers, true picture of courage and true people of paradise,
Very beautiful. Please keep this series up.
