ABBOTTABAD, Sept 7: Two French and four Pakistani journalists making footage of buildings here were detained on Wednesday. However, they were released later after verification of their documents.
Police said that Oliver Joulie (passport No 09AD90391) and Noemine Karine (passport No 07AT14863) were detained near Ayub Medical College after they tried to make a video footage of the area.Sources said the French journalists had not obtained permission to visit Abbottabad. They were questioned by the police and later allowed to return to Islamabad after verification of their documents.
The Nawan Sher police station arrested four local journalists, who claimed to be associated with APP and ETN TV channel and were trying to visit the area where the compound of Osama bin Laden was located.— Rashid Javed
