Shoaib Malik made a return to international cricket after ‘break’ of over a year as Pakistan and Zimbabwe got their three-match ODI series underway in Bulawayo. Left-arm seamer Sohail Tanvir also made a similar comeback to the team after a string of injuries put him out of action.

Pakistan won the toss and elected to bat on a dry pitch that will definitely put the brakes on scoring when the spinners get their hands on the ball.

Aizaz Cheema and Adnan Akmal are making ODI debuts for Pakistan while opening batsman Imran Farhat has also made a surprising return to the squad.

Zimbabwe’s squad wears the same look as the one that beat Bangladesh 3-2 in an ODI series recently.

Zimbabwe Chamu Chibabhaba, Vusi Sibanda, Hamilton Masakadza, Brendan Taylor (capt), Tatenda Taibu (wk), Malcolm Waller, Greg Lamb, Elton Chigumbura, Prosper Utseya, Ray Price, Chris Mpofu

Pakistan: Mohammad Hafeez, Imran Farhat, Younis Khan, Misbah-ul-Haq (capt), Shoaib Malik, Umar Akmal, Adnan Akmal (wk), Sohail Tanvir, Saeed Ajmal, Junaid Khan, Aizaz Cheema
