KARACHI: Aamir Atlas Khan, Yasir Butt and Waqar Mehboob can still participate in international events despite being banned by the Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF), a local newspaper reported.

PSF vice-president Qamar Zaman said that since the players were part of the PSA, the sport’s global governing body, the ban did not apply to international tournaments.

Atlas was banned by the PSF for two years while Butt was given a one-year ban and Mehboob for six months for unsatisfactory performance in the World Team Championship.

Zaman sympathized with the players and said the decision to ban them was a tough one but they should not be discouraged from playing in international events.
