HYDERABAD, Oct 8: Writers and intellectuals have expressed disappointment over resignation of Makhdoom Jamiluz Zaman from the chairmanship of the Sindhi Adabi Board (SAB).

Inayat Baloch, Sahar Imdad, Naseer Mirza, Inam Sheikh, Taj Joyo, Hidayat Baloch, Shaikh Aziz, Parwano Bhatti, Dr Laiq Zardari, Dr Nazar Mohammad Gahu and others said in a statement that Mr Zaman had played an important role in strengthening the SAB.

They said he had handed over the entire library of Makhdoom Talibul Maula and other rare manuscripts to the board. He had also taken important decisions regarding working of the SAB with particular reference to its financial issues, they added.

Under the prevailing conditions, his resignation was not a good omen, they said and urged Mr Zaman to withdraw his resignation.
