KARACHI: Pakistan Muslim League – Functional (PML-F) chief Pir Pagara on Wednesday refused to support the local government system and demanded that the provincial government restore the commissionerate system in Sindh.

Speaking to DawnNews on telephone, Mr Pagara said he would not support the local government system because he thinks that the commissionerate system was much better.

Answering a question over a dispute of cabinet portfolios after the return of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) in the Sindh government, Mr Pagara said it was the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) which had brought the MQM back in the provincial government and therefore it was the PPP’s responsibility to award ministries to MQM MPAs.
