KARACHI, Oct 13: Seven ships carrying vehicles and containers are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Friday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was slow for technical reasons where only two ships, Manila Express and Stella Hamal, to offload containers and general cargo were berthed on Thursday after the departure of APL Japan.

Stella Hamal, Manila Express and PO Yang Hu are due to sail out on Friday.

A total tonnage of 83,629 tons comprising 29,074 tons of export cargo including 2,299 tons of cement and 54,555 tons of import tonnage was handled on Thursday.

The following ships are due on Friday: Resolve with 60 vehicles and to load as many, Karachi with crude oil, Y.M. Fuzhou, Kota Azam, Emirates Yangtze, OOCL Chaleston and APL Sokhna with containers.

Port Qasim KARACHI, Oct 13: Four ships carrying containers, palm oil and sunflower seeds were berthed during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Thursday.

Meanwhile, another container ship also arrived at the outer anchorage.

Seven ships, CMA CGM Strauss, Ikaruga, Opal-II, Sargodha, Lord Byron, Stolt Stream and Al-Soar-II, were occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, sunflower seeds, palm oil and diesel oil.

A cargo volume of 53,554 tons comprising 39,466 tons of import and 14,088 tons of export was handled.

CMA CGM Strauss sailed out while Ikaruga and Stolt Stream were due to depart.
