Special anti-polio drive in Upper Dir

UPPER DIR, Oct 17: A three-day special anti-polio campaign was launched in Upper Dir on Monday. More than 150,000 children will be vaccinated against the crippling disease.

Addressing a press conference on the occasion, Ulema said the drops, as is being propagated by certain elements, did not contain any un-Islamic or harmful contents.

District in-charge of the Expanded Programme for Immunisation, Dr Nazar Mohammad, coordinator National Research Develo-pment Foundation Sahibzada Izharullah and Unicef`s M Imran were also present.

They said refusing anti-polio drops to children carried the risk of their being paralysed for the lifetime. —Correspondent
