LAHORE, Oct 26: Though the City District Government of Lahore has set up six points for sale of sacrificial animals on the outskirts of the city, people suggest the authorities to establish some sale points at open places in the city to facilitate buyers.

“I appreciate CDGL’s decision to provide free transport to people to reach sale points on the outskirts of the city, but officials should have considered how many people will avail this facility. I think most people will prefer buying animals from small traders moving in streets rather than waiting on roads for free transport to reach the far-off sale points,” Riaz Ahmad, a resident of Saidpur locality on Multan Road, told Dawn on Wednesday.

Zulfiqar Faiz, a resident of Green Town, said the government should establish at least one sale point at any open place near his locality. “Bagrian village is the best place where the CDGL can establish such a point. The residents of Green Town, Township and some other localities have easy access to this village,” he said.

A CDGL official supported people’s views.

“Although the CDGL has established six sale points outside the city, it is a fact that these points are far from various city areas. The CDGL should establish some sale points within the city,” the official said.
