GUJRANWALA: A woman and her two young daughters were shot dead by two male members of their family here early Friday.

According to Baghbanpura police, Arshad, resident of Gulshan Colony, Mubarik Shah road, had gone to purchase sacrificial animals from Arifwala. Meanwhile, police said Ikram and Lala came and shot dead Sughra, wife of Arshad, and his two daughters Shahzadi and Saima.

The accused were the brothers of Arshad and were told by locals that some men had come to their brother's house in his absence.

SSP operation Ahmed Virk reached the site of crime and launched an investigation. The bodies of the deceased three women were sent to district headquarter hospital for post mortem.
