LAHORE, Nov 29: The 13 confiscated falcons kept at the Lahore Zoo in a separate area will be chipped by the Falcon Foundation on Wednesday (today), officials told Dawn.
The chipping process would be carried out in the presence of the Customs, Falcon Foundation, Lahore Wildlife Department and Zoo officials. The case of confiscated falcons is in the court of special judicial magistrate wildlife, Lahore Cantonment.
The falcons are under a strict vigil at the Lahore Zoo and being taken care of by the officials. No visitors are allowed to the area where these falcons are kept.
These falcons were booked from Karachi to Bahrain by Faizan International Exporters. The PIA flight bound for Bahrain came to Lahore on a transit route on Saturday last and on suspicion the airport authorities checked the consignment which showed in papers that hens were being sent to Bahrain.
Wildlife Inspector Javed Awan conducted a raid at Lahore airport and confiscated the falcons.
