A  little birdie has told this scribe that Coke Studio’s next edition will be bigger and better. A lot of old and famous faces are making a return to the studio and the names include the likes of Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Atif Aslam. Given that nowadays Rahat FA and Atif A aren’t busy with their Bollywood assignments the way they used to till last year, it’s believable. Talk of Shafqat Amanat Ali’s inclusion in the lineup is also rife.

However, since Coke Studio’s reputation has assumed phenomenal proportions over the years, it’s quite likely that the next round of fusion music might spring up a surprise or two — pleasant or unpleasant, that remains to be seen.
