KARACHI: There is a need to impart training to young and upcoming journalists. This was stressed by the Sindh Minister for Youth Affairs, Syed Faisal Ali Subzwari.

He was speaking on the occasion of signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Sindh Department of Youth Affairs and Institute of Journalism. The document was inked at the Arts Council of Pakistan here on Thursday. The Minister said that impartation of training will help enhance the performance of the young journalists. He also highlighted the significance and role of the profession of journalism- the fourth pillar of the state. Director Youth Affairs Sindh, Khurshid Ali Shaikh, said that the participants would be trained about English and Urdu reporting, current affairs and journalistic values etc. He said that they would also be trained about business affairs and financial market. President of Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi, Muhammad Ahmed Shah, said on the occasion that the training would be aimed at enabling the youngsters to play an effective role in the realms of journalism. Executive Director of the institute of journalism, Noman Adil, said that professional abilities of the young journalists would be honed with the training. The training courses would start from the third week of the current month at the Institute of Journalism.
