LAHORE: Punjab Governor Sardar Latif Khan Khosa on Sunday said that there was no confrontation among the national institutions and they were working within the ambit of law and the constitution.

Addressing a public meeting organised by Pakistan People's Party (PPP) Lahore at Benazir Ground, Gulberg, he said that those elements would be disappointed who were conspiring and spreading rumours against the government.

He said the relationship between the PPP leadership and the workers were unconditional and strong. Federal Law Minister Maula Bakhsh Chandio in his address to the gathering said the PPP was a popular party which could not be eliminated by conspiracies.

He said that power was not the goal of the PPP, adding protection of the rights of the people and serving the masses were the only cause of the party.

Addressing the meeting, Jahangir Badr, PPP Central General Secretary said PPP workers would be proved unbeatable against the non-democratic ideas.

He said the PPP workers had sacrificed for democracy and faced imprisonments and tortures for this cause.

Imtiaz Safdar Warraich, PPP Punjab President said on the occasion the nation was united under the leadership of President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani and Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto, adding it would support every effort of the government for the development, integrity and sovereignty of the country.

Raja Riaz Ahmad, Opposition Leader in Punjab Assembly, Sami Ullah Khan, PPP Punjab General Secretary, Shaukat Basra, Parliamentary leader in Punjab Assembly, Faiza Malik, PPP Women Wing Lahore President, Chaudhary Ghulam Abbas, senior PPP leader and others addressed the gathering.
