KASUR, Dec 20: Former foreign minister Khurshid Mehmood Kasuri and a number of other political figures announced their decision to join the Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf (PTI) at a big public meeting here on Tuesday.

The major loser was the PML-Q as a majority of those who jumped on the Imran Khan bandwagon had been loyal to the PML-Q leaders, the chaudhrys of Gujrat, during the Musharraf rule and even after the 2008 election.

Besides Mr Kasuri, former district nazim Rana Imtiaz, former federal minister Sardar Tufail Khan, Javed Ashiq Dogar, former MNA Mahnaz Rafi, Anaza Ehsan Butt, Sarfraz Butt, former naib nazim Mian Sani and Shabbir Hussain joined the PTI.

In Lahore, two former MNAs from Khushab joined the party in the presence of Mr Khan.

Speaking at the public meeting in Kasur, the PTI chairman said the country was rich in resources and what it needed was an honest leadership. He said it was the need of the hour to eradicate corruption and ensure justice to everyone.
