ISLAMABAD: Members of the Senate Standing Committee on Defence and Defence Production will visit the Inter-Services Intelligence’s headquarters on December 27 to learn about the spy agency’s activities and its role in the war on terror.
“A meeting of the Standing Committee on Defence and Defence Production will be held on Tuesday, the 27th December, 2011, at the ISI Headquarters,” a meeting notice issued by the Senate Secretariat said.
On the agenda are discussions on “mission, function and organisation of ISI and the role of ISI in anti-terrorism operations”.
The members would be at liberty to raise any other matter related to the functioning of the agency.
The Parliament’s Committee on National Security had a few months ago refused to visit the military headquarters for a briefing and had demanded that army officers should come to the parliament to brief it.
