Written by Agha Hashr Kashmiri and directed by Zia Mohyeddin, Nek Parveen is playing at the Arts Council Theatre.

KARACHI: Presented by the Napa Repertory Theatre and directed by Zia Mohyeddin, a play titled, Nek Parveen will be showing at the Arts Council  Theatre from Dec. 30 to Jan 8.

The play, written by Agha Hashr Kashmiri, is about a reprobate ‘hero’,  who having squandered all his wealth, returns to his house confessing that he had committed a murder under the influence of alcohol.

His beautiful, devoted wife, Perveen — who has been subjected to all kinds of devilish devices to force her to lose her ‘honour’, but has withstood the test — receives him with open arms.  She is only concerned with his welfare and begs him not to think of her wretched state, but to change his blood-stained clothes and leave the town at once to escape the long arm of the law.

Tickets are available at Agha's Super Market and Napa for Rs. 600.
