ATTOCK: Five persons were killed and 12 others received serious injuries in a road accident here on GT road Friday evening.

As per details, a Peshawar bound speeding bus (LWC-6201) coming from Lahore overturned near Terballah chowk on main G. T road because of slippery road condition after rain. As a result, five persons including Abdul Ghaffar and Mohammad Shoaib, residents of Peshawar district; Alina Bibi, a resident of Lahore; Syed Ali Shah, a resident of Nowshera district and Ihsan Ullah died at the spot, while 12 other passengers sustained serious injuries.

On receiving information, officials of Rescue-1122 and National Highway & Motorway Police (NHMP) rushed to the spot and shifted the bodies as well as the injured to the district headquarters (DHQ) hospital Attock.

Later on, one of the injured persons, Muhabbat Ali, was shifted to a hospital in Rawalpindi due to his precarious condition. — Correspondent
