THE issue of Balochistan’s old textbooks is very critical for Baloch students who are not able to get quality education because of obsolete syllabus. Textbooks, published in 1993, have never been revised, though there have been so many changes since then.

Therefore, most of the students are unaware of many facts. Besides, all books from primary to matriculation are in Urdu, while in Intermediate students have to read books in English which creates a big problem for students.

Furthermore, books being lengthy create many problems for students and teachers as they cannot be completed within seven to eight months. It forces students to use unfair means to pass examinations.

The authorities concerned should revise the textbooks and reduce the number of pages.
