ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Wednesday admitted for hearing a petition by Husain Haqqani requesting the court to review its decision regarding the memo scandal, DawnNews reported.

The review petition filed through Asma Jahangir stated that the Supreme Court’s decision on the scandal went beyond the authority bestowed to the court.

The petition stated that the high courts were not subordinate to the Supreme Court and therefore the apex court could not issue directives to high court judges.

Earlier, a nine-judge bench of the Supreme Court headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry formed a commission headed by Balochistan High Court’s Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa to investigate the memo scandal.
