LAHORE, Jan 12: The Pakistan Muslim LeagueNawaz has hit upon a novel idea to directly approach the members of public to seek their opinion about launching a protest drive against the federal government.
The initiative has been taken by the party by sending short massages to ordinary people via cell phone, putting before them five possible modes of protest to choose from and suggest one to the PML-N.
The text message asks the recipients to suggest what course of action the party should take with regard to the federal government`s `deliberate` clash with the Supreme Court.
1-Resign from the National Assembly (alone) 2-Resign from National as well as Provincial Assemblies 3-Protest on roads, including a Long March 4-Bring a no-confidence move against the government with the help of other parties.
5-Wait and see So far, particularly religious parties have been organising `referendums` to seek public opinion on certain issues like incarceration of nuclear scientist Dr Abdul Qadeer, establishing trade links with India, etc.
But, none had so far taken on board the masses about a protest strategy against a sitting government.
