ISLAMABAD: Information Secretary Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Qamar Zaman Kaira on Tuesday said the government would complete its tenure and elections would be held according to the schedule.

Talking to a private news channel, he said the government was facing many challenges and the demand of early elections form other political parties was not a solution to those problems.

Kaira said that local bodies elections in provinces were rather need of the hour than the demand of early general election.

He said PPP was taking all the political parties on-board on important issues and “we are moving forward despite few differences.”

Kaira said that country's nuclear arsenal were in safe hands.

On Shah Mehmood Qureshi’s statement regarding Pakistan's nuclear assets, he said, it was nothing but a ‘cheap shot.’
