LAHORE: PML-Q leader and senior federal minister, Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi on Sunday held Chief Minister Punjab responsible for deaths caused by fake medicines.

Talking to a group of PML-Q members here at his residence, he said that he failed to understand as to why Shahbaz Sharif was not accepting his dereliction in deaths caused by substandard medicines and continuing his office.

He expressed his grave concern over the deaths of heart patients and said that real culprits are still at large because the government is backing and providing a safe passage from the issue.

The PML-Q leader demanded the Punjab government to immediately pay compensation to families who lost their loved ones and also provide best treatment to those who are affected by spurious medicines.
