KARACHI, Jan 31: The metropolis on Tuesday witnessed various types of crimes, including a terrorist attack at a cellular phone franchise, killing of a doctor, and this year’s first bank heist in which one million rupees were taken away.

Getting anxious over the deteriorating law and order situation, the Home Department imposed a ban on pillion riding from Wednesday morning till midnight of the 12th Rabiul Awal (Feb 5).

The announcement was made by Home Minister Manzoor Wassan, during a visit to the Garden Headquarters of police.

A woman staffer and a security guard were killed in the attack on the cellular phone franchise in North Nazimabad.

Two armed men forced their way into the outlet, killing the woman and the guard. Three people, including two customers, were injured in the attack.

A dermatologist was gunned down on Sharea Faisal in Malir area, in the limits of Saudabad police station.

Doctor Ashfaq Ahmed Qazi, 55, was heading to his clinic in Malir City from his home in Askari IV when he was shot from point-blank range.
