ISLAMABAD: The Joint Action Committee (JAC) comprising BPS employees blocked the main artery of the city on Tuesday and staged a sit-down till the filing of this story.

The JAC of the three public hospitals is demanding an increase in salaries, time-scale promotion, health risk allowance, non-practicing allowance, one-step up-gradation, hostel facility for nurses, pick-and drop service and hiring on monthly salary.

The protesters gathered at Kulsoom Plaza Chowk in the morning and blocked the chowk demanding an early resolution of their concerns.

A senior official of CADD said: "The summary is already with the office of the prime minister and we are hopeful that concerns raised by the JAC will be addressed." – Staff Reporter
