ISLAMABAD: Actress-turned-politician Musarrat Shaheen signaled at a possible alliance with Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf, but ruled it out with Maulana Fazlur Rehman in the same breath.

Addressing a press conference held here on Tuesday she said: “As my ideology is close to Imran Khan, an alliance is possible. However, I will never stand with Fazlur Rehman for difference in ideologies”, she said.

Musarrat said she has decided to contest election from Dera Ismail Khan in the coming elections. Residents of Dera have already rejected Maulana Fazlur Rehman.

She claimed to have mastered understanding of politics and the trick of tackling the players in it. She alleged that some persons had been threatening her and conveyed a message to her that she should not enter Dera but, “no one can stop me”.

She demanded of the election commission not to allot the sign of “Book” to parties for election as it was used in past to misguide people.

“Prime Minister House and Presidency should be converted into educational institutions because nation was unable to afford the expenses of these buildings”, she said.
