Rs500,000 for heirs of each Kharak victim

LAHORE, Feb 10: Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif announced on Friday that Rs500,000 would be given to the heirs of each person who died in a building collapse in Kharak and Rs75,000 to each injured person whereas one person of each affected family would also be provided job.

Mr Sharfi met the survivors and heirs of the building collapse victims and said the administration had been told provide financial assistance to the affected families in a day.

He said that those houses which were destroyed completely or damaged partially will be reconstructed.

The chief minister said the persons responsible for the incident would be punished. He said that if officers of police, LDA or any other department were found involved, they would also face action.

The chief minister directed the health special secretary present in the meeting to visit Jinnah Hospital for two hours daily and review the provision of medical facilities being provided to the injured people of the Kharak tragedy.

He also directed Khawaja Salman Rafique to visit the hospital and ensure provision of best medical facilities to the patients. The chief minister made a committee consisting of Member National Assembly Mian Marghoob Ahmed, Member Provincial Assembly Mehr Ishtiaq Ahmed and officers to redress all complaints of the affected of Kharak tragedy.

Pakistan Muslim League-N Chief Nawaz Sharif also expressed his heartfelt sympathies with the affected people.

Meanwhile, the Rescue 1122 accomplished the operation of the collapsed drug factory on Multan Road here on Friday.
