QUETTA, Feb 11: Afghan forces reportedly killed two Pakistani men after kidnapping them from a border village in the Badini area of Qila Saifullah district on Saturday.

Sources said the Afghan soldiers, after crossing into the Pakistani side of the border late on Friday night, barged into a house in village Tarkha Ghagi and took the two men to Afghanistan.

According to reports received from Qila Saifullah, both Abdullah and Mohammad Sarwar have been killed.

Home Secretary Nasibullah Bazai confirmed the kidnapping to Dawn and said: “The Afghan soldiers entered the Pakistani area without permission and took away two Pakistanis with them.”

There were reports that both had been killed, he said.

Mr Bazai said the Afghan authorities had not officially informed the Pakistani authorities about the incident.

He said the government through the interior ministry and foreign office was approaching the Afghan authorities to know whether the two Pakistanis had been killed.

However, tribal elders in Badini confirmed the killing.
