KARACHI, Feb 12: Pakistan People’s Party lawmakers on Sunday evening assembled at the Chief Minister’s House to devise a strategy for Monday’s assembly session that will coincide with the appearance of Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani in the Supreme Court in compliance with a contempt of court notice.

The legislators were concerned but optimistic about the unfolding situation and resolved to be prepared for “all kind of sacrifices”.

They meeting also deliberated upon the strategy to take the allies along on some crucial issues such as the local government.

Although the agenda of the session beginning on Monday was not communicated to the media, the lawmakers are expected to move a resolution in the house to express solidarity with the prime minister and their resolve in support of the democratic dispensation.

The focus of the meeting was the coming senate election and as such the candidates shortlisted by the party were also introduced to the lawmakers.

Surprisingly, some of the leaders whose names did not appear in a list of probables also attended the meeting.
