Customs at airports

Published February 22, 2012

I AM an overseas Pakistani and recently travelled to Lahore. My experience at Lahore airport customs was so bitter that I am not looking forward to travel there any time soon.

My question is: the government does not need any customs at the airport because, I believe, no money or tax is going to it.

This drama ends up in bribery and maltreatment of people coming to visit Pakistan and they end up with so much bad experience that they just never want to go back to invest and spend time and money in that place.

Customs at Pakistani airports for incoming passengers is not only a useless activity but it also destroys Pakistan’s image for all those travelling there.

The system should be at least streamlined.
