Five foreign players to feature in Roshan Khan Open Squash

KARACHI: Five foreign players have sent their entries for the 4th edition of Parco Roshan Khan Open Junior Squash Championship, to be played here at the PN Roshan Khan Jahangir Khan Squash Complex here from Feb 25 to 29.

Two Indian players Junaid Muzaffar Thoker and Ranjeet Singh, Erfan Jamshidi and Aliee Nayeri from Iran and Canada’s Dorosham Khan have confirmed participation in the competition.

The details of the championship were announced at a news conference by chairman organising committee Jahangir Khan, GM Corporate Affairs Shah M Saad Husain and Tournament Director Tahir Jamil Khanzada.

The event carries US$10,000 in prize money and has been approved by Asian Squash Federation (ASF) as a ASF Junior Super Series event.

Tahir said a total of 210 entries have been received with the organisers ASF and the Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF).

He further said as many as seven age group events will be played in the 5-day competition. Boys will be featuring in under-11, 13, 15, 17, 19 age groups while girls will appear in under-15 and 19 contests.

Ali Bokhari is top seed for the under-19 contest while Suleman Khan is seeded second followed by Erfan Jamshidi as third seed.—APP
