KARACHI: The Crime Investigation Department (CID) police on Friday claimed to have arrested five suspects involved in sectarian killings in Karachi.

Sources told DawnNews that the CID had carried out an operation in Korangi's Abdullah Town area and arrested Ibrahim, Shakeel Malik alias Mohammad Ali, Hazrat Anees alias Jawwad, Niazullah and Abdul Jalil Anwar.

Two hand grenades, two Kalashnikovs and three pistols were also recovered from the suspects, said a CID official.

The suspects, who were members of Sipah-e-Sahaba Pakistan (SSP), told investigators that they were involved in eight incidents of target killings.
