PESHAWAR: A remote controlled bomb planted near Scheme chowk in the Budh Bher area of Peshawar exploded, killing one child and injuring three other persons.

According to the police the bomb had been planted near a shop. The blast partially damaged the shop.

Police officials confirmed the death of one child and said that the injured (two children and a man) had been transferred to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.

The police added that the person who had allegedly planted the bomb has been taken into custody and investigations are underway.

Nobody claimed the responsibility for the blast.
