ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Thursday directed Inspector General of Police Sindh to take all necessary steps for the recovery of three Hindu females and to produce them on March 26.

A three-judge bench headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry, Justice Khilji Arif Hussain and Justice Tariq Parvez issued    the directive on a constitutional petition moved by Pakistan Hindu Council.

During proceedings, Dr Ramesh Kumar, patron-in-chief, Pakistan Hindu Council apprised that during past few days, three females belonging to Hindu community including Rinkle d/o Nandlal (Mirpur Mathello), Dr Lata d/o Dr Ramesh (Jacobabad), had been kidnapped from CPSP Karachi while Poja Devi (Larkana) was forcibly taken away.

He prayed the Court for issuing necessary directions to the provincial administration for recovery and production of these girls.

Attorney General for Pakistan Maulvi Anwaul Haq appeared on behalf of respondent and requested for grant of some time to seek instructions from the quarters concerned in the matter.

Further hearing was adjourned to March 26.
