Comedian Umar Sharif may not be the best talk show host in town (come to think of it there’s none). But the subtle manner in which he put a woman politician in a spot on his last show was something to be seen.

Noted journalist and TV anchor Najam Sethi was also on there as Sharif’s guest and seemed to thoroughly enjoy the comedian’s apparently soft barbs thrown at the politician. In fact, Sethi made a comment at the end of the programme that had Umar been the host of his show, it would’ve been something special. You couldn’t argue with that. Umar S was in fine, fine form that day. Not only did he keep his crassness in humour in control, but also asked pertinent questions of the politician. It for sure was a lesson for many chat show hosts. That’s how you do it, pals!
