The lawyer for the Army staff sergeant suspected of killing 16 Afghan civilians is questioning the quality of the evidence against his client and plans to travel to Afghanistan to gather his own.
John Henry Browne says he doesn’t know the evidence against Robert Bales, saying there is no forensic evidence or confessions. Browne says the villages where the military believes Bales went on a shooting rampage on March 11 is ”not like a crime scene in the United States.”
The 38-year-old Bales has not been charged yet. Browne expects that he will be charged this week.
The killings sparked protests in Afghanistan, endangered relations between the two countries and threatened to upend American policy over the decade-old war. – Video by Reuters, text by AP

A person who kills unarmed civilians is a Terrorist. US Government created Guantanamo Bay prison for terrorists who have committed a crime, however, sufficient legal evidence does not exist to prosecute them in the court of law.
Shouldn’t this Army Sargent be sent to solitary confinement in Guantanamo Bay for life?
There are no human rights, international court of justice, interpol, NGOs when crime is commited by Americans.
Sure there won't be any evidence now. But you think all the victims killed themselves. Is there any evidence left of the 9/11 incident for a passerby now, or in the future???
Not surprised, CNN has already started portraying him as "Good" man by interviewing neighbors etc. He will ultimately be declared insane. I will not be surprised if he go free on little or no penalty like Raymond Davis. Rules are for Non American not for Americans.
