Make no mistake: Josh is a good pop band. Over the years it has churned out remarkably melodious numbers representing variety of genres. Their fan-following is justified.

But the band has a penchant that it must learn to control: it tends to cover famous songs which do not suit its style or the kind of vocals that music lovers are used to listening to from Josh. The band’s reworking of a famous R.D. Burman song, Yeh Zameen Gaa Rahi Hai, from the Indian film, Teri Kasam (1982), is something that it might want to revisit. Not only has Josh completely overlooked the lyrical connotations of the song (the number was penned by the erstwhile Anand Bakhshi) but has tampered with its delectable melody, making it sound like a sophomore attempt at creating music. Come on guys, you can do better.
