Woman SSP dies in road accident
March 29, 2012 by Our Staff ReporterLAHORE, March 28: Multan Investigation SSP Ms Muqadas Asmi died of critical wounds when her car overturned on Multan Road near Manga Mandi.
Ms Asmi’s driver Pervez also suffered multiple injuries and was said to be in critical condition in a hospital.
The police said the SSP Investigation left her Garden Town residence for Vehari to join her duty. When her car reached near Manga
Mandi, the driver lost control over steering wheel and the vehicle careened off the road and overturned crossing the divider.
Resultantly, both Ms Asmi and her driver suffered critical wounds.
Locals alerted the police and Rescue 1122 officials who reached the site.
Ms Asmi died while being shifted to a nearby hospital while the condition of the driver, Pervez, is critical.
The police handed over the body to the family of the deceased SSP after completing formalities.
The investigations are under way to establish cause of the accident.
Punjab police Inspector General Habibur Rehman in his message on Wednesday expressed his deep sorrow and grief over the sudden death of Ms Asmi.
