KARACHI, March 30: Several stalls were gutted when a fire broke out in a makeshift market in the Sohrab Goth area on Friday morning.

The market, which was located behind Al-Asif Square, dealt in old and new stuff, including carpets, electronic goods, furniture, etc, said Chief Fire Officer Saleem Ehtisham, adding that the market was very congested.

“We managed to contain the fire from spreading to the neighbouring settlements that could have caused much more damage,” he added.
