ISI’s political wing

DEFENCE Minister Ahmad Mukhtar has said that there has always been a political wing in the directorate of Inter-Services Intelligence (March 13). This is incorrect.

In the interest of historical truth it may be mentioned here that the political wing of the ISI was created by the then prime minister Z. A. Bhutto through an executive order in 1974. Prior to that, there was no political wing of the ISI.
