QUETTA: Unidentified men shot dead Balochistan Jamiat-e-Ulema Pakistan (JUP) leader Maulvi Mohammad Qasim in Quetta on Friday, DawnNews reported.

The incident happened just before Friday prayers, which the religious cleric was supposed to lead, on Quetta’s Sariab Road.

According to reports, the situation was tense in the area following the leader’s murder as demonstrators came out on the roads and burnt tyres in protest.
