In almost all cultures and ancient religions including legends, there are two ways to lead one’s life. One is a life consisting of doing what is right, regardless of what difficulties come in the way and the other is the path of wrong or evil; in which one lives only for one’s self and follows selfish desires and not caring whether it harms anyone or destroys peace.
And of course, as always, the fight between good and evil is the essence of all battles. Sometimes, doing the right thing does not bring material gains but nevertheless, it is the right path to follow. An interesting rock carving which a Native American tribe called ‘Hopi’ states as being made as a symbol of their religion thousands of years ago, and about which their elders have told them from one generation to the next, that it describes and prophesises life on Earth.
In the state of Arizona, near a place called Oraibi, a stone has some petro glyphic symbols that are supposed to be describing the destiny of the human race. The Prophecy Rock as it is called, has a large figure, which the Hopi say is the creator. He has a bow in his left hand, which means that the Hopi should leave the ways of war and terror.
Then there is a straight line from the right of the Great Spirit (the creator), which is deciphered as the time line of human existence, which translates into thousands of years. Then there is a point where the Great Spirit touches the line that is the time when people will return to the Great Spirit. The straight path means the true path of righteousness, of peace and harmony, through which humans can have a pure life on earth.
Living in harmony with nature, and reap the rewards as the Earth will remain fertilised and good for life. This is the straight and narrow path. There is an upper line or path, which is carved broader. It means that some Hopi will join the upper path, which is of greed and war being attracted to the glamour that is offered to them by the people who follow the path of evil.
There are two circles on the path which are thought to be catastrophic events or the extreme shaking of the Earth which according to the Hopi elders are the two World Wars I and II that caused massive destruction of innocent lives and property and also damaged nature. There are predictions in the carvings that state that World War III will be started by the same nations who first found the light and wisdom but then fell into greed oppressing the lesser nations.
The Hopi say that people who are not materialistic and have purity in their hearts will be saved from the last great catastrophe, which will rock the planet. There will be spiritual beings that will come to Earth to wipe out evil and shake the Earth again, and thus prosperity will follow and reign again. The Purification Day will then lead to everlasting life and peace.
Following the legend, the Hopi have settled in the Four Corners they think they were instructed to do where the borders of Arizona, New Mexico, Utah and Colorado meet and have lived in humble simplicity and farmed their own crops.
They say that their areas are the heart of the Turtle Island, the name they give to the US. They reinforce their harmony with nature and the Great Spirit of all creation by ceremonies and rituals. Thus, making sure that they stay away from the above broader and crooked path that is indicated in the carving as being the path of destruction and evil.
As for the survival of any war, the prophecy is that things like bomb shelters, etc., would not ensure safety but the people who are at peace in their hearts are already under the “Great Shelter of Life”, but the people who are evil will find no shelter. It will be a time of trial though for all. As for the destruction, the carvings do not show any specific area of the Earth but only the two paths of right and evil or greed.
An account of these prophesies has been written by Frank Walters, which was published in 1963 in The Book of the Hopi. They seriously believe that the Blue ‘Kachina’ star, will appear in the sky, and will herald catastrophic events that will change the world forever.
The star in question here is Sirius. So in other words, the clear appearance of Sirius in the sky will differentiate righteous people from the evil. People who followed their own desires will become very powerful and cause the ruin of the planet. Thus the heavens will fall, the sky and the alignment of the Earth will change forever. The Hopi prophecies can be translated into many ways but few scientists have compared these predictions to actual galactic possibilities of a change in the Earth’s magnetic field, etc. And they do believe that calculations do point to such a celestial event.
So, in other words, the choices we all make in life, somewhat pave or modify the future of our existence.
In many ways, the Hopi prophecy does ‘rock’. What do you say?
