ISLAMABAD: Foreign Office spokesperson Abdul Basit confirmed on Saturday that President Asif Ali Zardari will meet Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh at lunch during his visit to India, DawnNews reported.

The spokesperson said that president’s visit to India is personal and the real motive of the visit is to pay a visit to the shrine of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti at Ajmer Sharif.

The Indian prime minister and President Zardari will also be discussing some issues of importance during their meeting, he added.

In reply to a question, Basit said that he had no knowledge of a meeting between Bilalwal Bhutto Zardari and Rahul Gandhi.
