KANPUR: The dedication and fortitude to seek knowledge of a 17-year-old Indian boy is a stark contrast to students who bunk classes regularly for fun. According to a news report published in NDTV.com, Mohammed Omar, student of St Aloysius School, who took his Class 12 exam last month, has not missed a single class in 14 years.
According to Omar, his punctuality and 100 per cent attendance were not intentional however when he was promoted to class 10, he ensured that he does not bunk or miss school.
Omar, who is a son a businessman Mohammed Ikram, who supplies salt to tanneries in Kanpur, claims that he ensures his attendance even if his area is flooded with rainwater or he himself is running high fever.
Omar has applied to qualify for Guinness Book of World Records for his unbroken school attendance.
