ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Monday decided to hold by-elections for the two vacant seats of Punjab Assembly on new electoral rolls, DawnNews reported.

A high level meeting of the commission headed by its interim Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Justice Shakirullah decided this for the by-polls of PP-243 and PP-245 to be held on May 7.

Jan directed the authorities to finalise new electoral rolls for the purpose on emergency bases.

The meeting also reviewed the process of formation of transparent electoral rolls.
