QUETTA, April 10: Police recovered on Tuesday the three missing people who could not be produced before the Supreme Court at the hearing of a petition on the law and order situation and human rights violations in Balochistan last week.

Police had produced four of the seven missing people in the apex court on April 5 upon an order of Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry.

The three-member bench of the Supreme Court had ordered the Balochistan Inspector General of Police and other police officers to recover the remaining three missing people and produce them before the Supreme Court on the next hearing of the petition.

The Supreme Court had warned them that they would be suspended in case of failure to carry out the order.

Sources said the three recovered people would be taken to Islamabad and produced before the Supreme Court bench on Thursday (April 12).

The missing men were identified as Gul Mir, Amir Jan and Mir Jan.

Relatives of the recovered people said that police did not allow them to meet them.

Meanwhile, police failed in tracing out the other three missing people who had been kidnapped on April 3 from the Killi Ismail area of Quetta.

Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhary had also ordered on April 5 that these three men should also be produced before the court on the next hearing of the petition.

A woman who was present during hearing of the petition had submitted before the Supreme Court that her brother, Ghaffar Baloch, had been kidnapped by “agencies men” a couple of months ago and later his bullet-riddled body was found.

She further told the court that on April 3, another brother of hers, Dr Din Mohammad Baloch, and his two friends had been kidnapped by agencies men while they were sitting in a hotel in Killi Ismail area.

She identified the other two kidnapped men as Zakir Majeed and Hafiz Saeedur Rehman.

Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry had warned that if these three men were not produced before the court on the next hearing, the Inspector General of Balochistan and other police officers concerned would be suspended.
