Two assailants threw the deadly liquid on Nawaz, Hajra Bibi, Nusrat Bibi and Wasim who were going on a motorcycle.

The police said Aslam and his accomplice threw acid on them and fled the scene.

An onlooker called Rescue 1122 officials who shifted the acid attack victims to Dera District Headquarters Hospital.

Sadar Station House Officer Javed said the incident was the result of an old enmity.

JI: The Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) chief does not expect the elections on time and says the ruling party will try to postpone them for a year.

Addressing a meeting at Company Bagh on Sunday, JI Amir Munawwar Hasan said the government wanted to buy more time as it was Americans’ favourite. If it happened, the JI would resist it, he said.

He said no one could be graded noble and pious through dynasty or status as actions determined one’s place in history and in the yes of the public. He said lawlessness was the order of day in Pakistan.

He warned the government the JI with Difa-i-Pakistan Council would take every measure against the resumption of Nato supplies and efforts to make the country secular.

He said Afghanistan, the land of holy warriors, had defeated the United Kingdom and Russia, and now America. He said Osama Bin Ladan was not a person but a symbol of “Islamic resistance against American imperialism”.

He said resolution of the crises facing by the country and the nation was a ban on American intervention in all affairs of the country and the nation.
